Transport for ferrous and non-ferrous materials logistics operations

Clearpath Logistics Ltd

Transport for ferrous and non-ferrous materials

We provide road transport and logistics coordination for businesses moving metal products, components and fabricated items.

Our service concerns the physical movement of goods. CLEARPATH LOGISTICS LTD does not purchase metal, determine scrap values or take title to a customer's material.

Ferrous metal loads logistics operations

Clearpath Logistics Ltd

Ferrous metal loads

We can assess transport enquiries involving steel stock, plate, sheet, structural sections, bar, tube, fabricated steelwork and properly prepared ferrous components.

Weights and dimensions must be confirmed before collection. Long, heavy or irregular items require sufficient detail to identify an appropriate transport arrangement.

Built for dependable movement

Non-ferrous metal loads

We can consider packaged and secured loads containing aluminium, copper, brass and other non-ferrous products.

Customers must disclose the nature and approximate commercial value of high-value loads so that suitable security and insurance conditions can be checked before acceptance.

Fabricated items and engineering components logistics operations

Clearpath Logistics Ltd

Fabricated items and engineering components

We support the movement of finished and partly finished metalwork between manufacturers, fabricators, treatment providers, project sites and customers.

This can include palletised components, crated parts, completed fabrications and items moving for cutting, coating, treatment or further assembly.

Clearpath Logistics Ltd

Recyclable metal material

Recyclable metal is considered only after its condition and legal classification have been established. Calling material "scrap", "surplus" or "recyclable" does not by itself determine whether it is legally classed as waste.

Where a load is controlled waste, the movement can proceed only through an appropriately authorised transport arrangement, with the required transfer documentation and an eligible receiving destination. We will not knowingly arrange a non-compliant movement.

Preparing metal for transport logistics operations

Clearpath Logistics Ltd

Preparing metal for transport

The sending party must prepare the load so that it can be transported safely. Depending on the material, this may include:

  • Palletising, crating or secure bundling
  • Banding and restraint appropriate to the weight
  • Protecting sharp or exposed edges
  • Separating items that could move or damage one another
  • Providing accurate individual and total weights
  • Distributing weight appropriately for loading
  • Protecting material from weather where required
  • Providing suitable lifting equipment and competent operators
  • Clearly identifying each item or handling unit

Collection may be refused if the actual load differs materially from the description or cannot be loaded and carried safely.
